Description/precaution
Derrick is part of cargo gear and used for
loading/unloading of cargo on ship.
Derrick is used on old ships.
New ships are equipped with highly movable
cranes
Derrick is an equipment made of steel, rigged
as swinging boom and is used for hoisting cargo in and out of ship.
It can
be fitted to a mast or a Samson post, the lower end of heel is pivoted so as
the derrick can move in vertical and horizontal direction.
